Vice President Research, Development & Implementation
Shannon Smith contributes her expertise in transportation
and land use planning, with special focus in environmental issues,
public infrastructure funding, and community investment programs. In
addition to assisting clients with the city and county's permitting
and land use entitlement process, Smith specializes in coordinating
the preparation of comprehensive environmental impact reports, and
assisting in transportation funding programs, and crafting jobs training
and community relations components for large-scale development projects.
- Managed and oversaw the production of environmental
documentation for major specific plan projects, including the Alameda
District Plan and the Central City West Specific Plans. Ensured all
environmental issues were adequately addressed and analyzed. Particular
attention was paid to the surrounding communities' interest.
- Researched and kept abreast of all transportation
funding opportunities on the federal, state, regional, local and
private sector levels. Developed broad understanding of each program's
processing requirements, time frames, and relationships to short-
and long-term goals. Developed working relationships with all levels
of government.
- Created and implemented a number of community investment
elements and products for development programs. Produced a community
directory of local businesses and contractors as an outreach resource
for a major development project. Assisted in the creation and development
of the Warner Bros. MBE/WBE Participation Program.
- Actively involved in developing the comprehensive
transportation programs for major development projects. Responsible
for developing consensus amongst the various officials, agencies
and staffs for funding and implementation of key transportation improvements
that will benefit the region.
